I'd love to help in the United States as a Rep. I'm in Florida. But I'm still not sure how many of us, Cassies, are anywhere near me....O.o;;;
りん[info]pinkulemon on February 23rd, 2009 04:29 pm (UTC)
Haha thanks a lot! ♥ I know there are loads in Cali (I think anyway). I guess we`ll wait for orders and see how it goes? (So if you have Florida friends, now is the time to ask them to make their presence known XDD)

I bow to your ingenious minds and general generosity. :) It's about time us international fans get to help the boys too. And, you know, not spend double as much on it as BigEast and Cassiopeia. :l

Anyway, I'd like to volunteer as a rep for Europe if needed. :) I'm in Denmark myself, and I do know a couple of DBSK fans here, though not that many (about 7 or so). But I've checked out shipping fees and such, and it wouldn't cost me very much to send it out to the rest of Europe (max. $5 or so). Just offering. :)

And thanks again for putting so much work into this! ♥
りん[info]pinkulemon on March 9th, 2009 01:29 pm (UTC)
Wow, Europe :D I`m not very familiar with the scope of the region so you might have to help me out here. I`m currently trying to rework the ordering system so it`ll be smoother for future releases. Do you think European countries are too big a place for mass orders to be feasible? For example, within...Paris, would it be very difficult to get people to meet a rep?

As an alternative, would it still be cheaper if we shipped everything to one person in Europe and for the other European fans to get their CDs via regional shipping? Or would same countries have to be separated from others? Or would it work out about the same as an individual order shipped from Japan? Any input or ideas you have would be much appreciated. I`m like, dumb and don`t have enough brain cells to go around such a huge project :'D ♥

Thank you for your interest ^^ ♥ I am actually currently trying to rework the ordering system so it can be smoother for future releases. When that does happen, I hope to make the whole process a lot more tailor-made for each release, based on each region`s demand for that particular release. So the more Singaporean fans you can get to participate, the better and cheaper it will be for everyone. I will probably be getting Cassiopeians to take turns volunteering to help with the distribution of releases as well, so it will really be a "by Cassies for Cassies" effort (: Fingers crossed! I`ll keep you posted ^^ ♥

I'm spending most of the year in southeastern Idaho in the US, but I don't know how many international Cassies there are here and I'm pretty busy with classes. In the summer months I'm in southwestern Washington. If you ever need any help with something in the areas, just let me know and I'll try my best to help!

You can email me at amylouisehotchkiss@yahoo.com

Thanks for making this possible. I've been searching for a way to order their goods from somewhere better than yesasia and cheaper than cdjapan. This just proves how TVXQ has the greatest fan community in the world. I am so happy to be a part of it!

Hi there!

I'm Nadia from Malaysia. There are a lot of Cassies around me, and yes we have trouble in purchasing DBSK's products. And since I do graphics all the time, I've been thinking about making my own DBSK designated shirts, i.e DBSK's pics, pairings and everything, so fans could wear them to concerts, DBSK stuff, etc but I'm not sure if it's right or not. I've also thought about ordering the stuff in bundles so I could help the Cassies around here. Would love to help you with the forum! I do ♥
りん[info]pinkulemon on March 9th, 2009 01:27 pm (UTC)
That sounds like a really great idea. :D Right now, before deciding on extra stuff to offer the fans, my main concern is actually trying to rework the ordering system so it works out smoother and easier for everyone. I hope to make the whole process a lot more tailor-made for each release, based on each region`s demand for that particular release. So the more Malaysian fans you can get to participate, the better and cheaper it will be for everyone. I will probably be getting Cassiopeians to take turns volunteering to help with the distribution of releases as well, so it will really be a "by Cassies for Cassies" effort (: I`d appreciate any ideas you might have for the new system ^^

Hi,

I would like to help as a rep too. I'm living around Kepong (KL) Malaysia. Right now, I still don't have any bank account though I'm planning on opening one. But is there anything I should take note before opening an account? And I'm not sure how paypal works. So, if you'd kindly explain to me what I need to prepare to be a rep, I'd be really glad to help. Sorry for my stupidity on this matter... -.-

Also, for the price comparisons, I was thinking you could include HMV's price as well since many people usually compare YA, CDJapan & HMV's prices.

Hello, this is [info]une_topaze currently on temporary LJ hiatus but came here via soompi. I just want to put my 2 cents about this because I'm rather worried about Malaysian Customs duty because anything that is imported in a bulk into this country will be like attracting the bees to the honey. It is not my attention to put a damper on this project but anyone who volunteers to be a representative have to be aware of what they're volunteering.

This concern applies to mass order only as It's fine for personal online orders but even this will not be spared from possibility of being withhold by Customs. Some of my friends who order dvds from YA and DVD heaven have to pay tax and duty and it's only one item. And let's say the consignment is held, there is a possibility the representative has to go to KLIA to explain the bulk order and in this case, it's hard to BS and we will still end up paying for the extra cost.

FYI, if Custom managed to single out the bulk order the added cost will be as follows based on VALUE DECLARED on custom form.

Disc (sound/music) 8524 32 000 - import duty=20% + sales tax=10%.
No tax for books but books + CD may get taxed if declared as CD/DVD. If you order through YA please tell them to specify item description is 'book' because there are cases where they declare it as DVD o__O

But of course there's another way, slip money under table lor. XD

(I'm actually researching this because I'm going to order something online XD)

If you have 3-4 representatives to 'spread' the order around it will minimized the chance of getting caught but seller and buyer must know this risk. Put it as a disclaimer to avoid problem in the future.

I'm already declaring my hatred for PosMalaysia incoming mail service because some of my stuff sent by my friends are lost and if I buy any Korean, Japanese fangoods I will place an order of maximum 3 set each so Custom can believe its gift and will use EMS. Expensive, but it arrives at my doorstep within 3-5 working days.

For Malaysia, either encourage personal order or place a limit to order per item per person if you see fit. I'm all for the this project, i know the aunty at Times Square really cekik darah one.

It will help a lot if you can find someone who is willing to help out in Korea or someone goes to Korea on regular basis. I also have a friend who can help with mu-mo order (official a-nation and tour goods) in Japan or THSK merch related order (eg. Goods on Demand custom made photobook) but she charge small percentage fees for her service.

If it's any help, bank transfer is not exactly feasible as long term solution for local rep to pay overseas supplier. Please take into account that receipient bank will deduct considerable sum of money as bank fee/charges. (Personal experience: If payment is made in USD, Korean bank may deduct min USD 21 as bank fee from recipient account depending on total amount sent. I've never wired Korean won/Japanese Yen before though because I did online T/T or moneygram which requires USD)

Moneygram is probably a better way to transfer the money overseas if paypal is not available. It's similar to Western Union but the fee is cheaper and receipient doesn't have to pay anything extra to claim the money (transfer less than USD 100= USD 12 fee). In Malaysia it is under Maybank and the branch in KL Sentral opens from 6.30a.m - 10 p.m. everyday. The one in Bukit Bintang is also open 7 days a week, I'm not sure about their opening hours though. You may want to consider this option. Western Union fee is too expensive XD

You can e-mail me at une_topaze[at]hotmail.com for any reason, my own experience is limited to personal purchases. So far no need to deal with Kastam and all personal order direct from Korean fansites received without much hassle.

If you have taken all this into account, this can be considered as ramblings and just ignore me. XD

I know by reading the comments posted by the earlier users that [info]pinkulemon and [info]whatabout_kp already put their hands up for Australia (or more specifically Sydney).

I don't mind being another choice for representative since I buy JE and DBSK-things online from everywhere. I live in Sydney, Australia. =)

On your query regarding to whether it's cheaper to ship everything to one location (i.e. Sydney) then domestically sending it out to the other local cities, then I think it would be yes. Most online shops (apart from the evil YxxAxxx), charge items and shipping by USD. CDJapan charges by Japanese Yen. Depending on the country you live in and customs (let's not forget import taxes if you order too much for 1 address), you might find that you use USD or your currency balances it so it won't matter too much for you. As for everyone else like me, it will be cheaper in my opinion to have just one shipping fee charged in USD then 10+. As a regular Ebay seller, domestic parcel shipping is approx AUD $4.20 for a regular parcel; approx AUD$5.50 for up to 500g; approx $7.70 for Express Post 500g for up to 500g.

Also just to let you know in advance, I will be on holidays in Hong Kong (for a week from mid-October) and Japan (and maybe Korea) from mid-November to mid-December this year. To help out fellow Cassies, I am willing to help anyone who wants to buy released DBSK CDs/DVDs/Memorabilia (The Chinese editions from Hong Kong; Japanese editions from Japan and Korean editions from Korea etc.) I wasn't too sure if you would like to make something like a collective order near then. It is usually that period of time when they release singles and albums (hopefully also AADBSK3 boxset >.< ).

What do you think?
